Document Names and ID's
Use the terminology that works for you and your client. By default, Part3 leverages the latest in CCDC terminology (PC, CD, CO etc.) but you can now override and create the custom terms that work for you.
In this article:
- Customizing Your Organization's Document Names and IDs
- Customizing Your Project's Document Names and IDs
- Customizing the Number of Digits in Your Project's Document Version
There are two places where you can customize the names and IDs of your documents in Part3:
Customizing Your Organization's Document Names and IDs:
These will become your Organization's Document Names and IDs going forward.

To get to your Organization page, click on the navigation button and select your organization name.

Click
Settings and select
Cover Pages:

You'll see a list of customizable documents. Expand the ones you'd like to update, and change their
Template Title,
ID and
Display Name as necessary. Once done, click
Save Settings:

Going forward, your documents will show the selected names in Part3.
You can also add default Disclaimers to documents at this stage. Please click here to learn more.


Customizing Your Project's Document Names and IDs:
These changes will only apply to your Project's documents.

Go to your Project's
Team page and click
Edit cover pages.

You'll see a list of customizable documents. Expand the ones you'd like to update, and change their
Template Title,
ID and
Display Name as necessary. Once done, click
Save Settings:

Going forward, your documents will show the selected names in your Part3 Project.

This can also be done while creating a new Project (specifically on step 3 of that process!).

Customizing the Number of Digits in Your Project's Document Version:
Part3 also gives you the flexibility to choose the minimum number of digits you'd like your document versions to have (three or four). These changes will only apply to your Project's documents.

Go to your Project's
Team page and click
Edit cover pages.

You'll see a list of customizable documents. Expand the ones you'd like to update, and select an option in the
Minimum Characters for Versions drop-down field (between
three or
four digits). Once done, click
Save Settings:

Going forward, your documents will show the selected minimum number of digits in your Part3 Project.
This will not apply to any previously created documents in your Project.
