Signing Documents

Using electronic signatures in Part3 keeps everything related to document creation and distribution in one place.

Electronic Signatures in Part3: To sign a document in Part3 you must be an authenticated user. The moment a document is electronically signed the event is logged in the document history for all to see. Furthermore, once a document has been returned or issued, it is uneditable, meaning you will always have the original copy saved, minimizing the risk of inappropriate use.

1. Managing your Signature

From your Account Settings page, scroll down to the Signature section:

Click the + New Signature button to open the controls for adding a new signature. Based on your preference, you may either Type, Draw or Upload a signature to your profile. This signature will be used on all documents that you sign moving forward. Any documents that you previously signed (if applicable) will continue to have your old signature:

2. Signing as a Reviewer

Review the document that you have been asked to sign in full. The preview that is shown on the web interface is the full representation of the document, however, if you're more comfortable reviewing a PDF, then you can click the Create PDF button to download the document:

Note: this is only available when the document is in the 'Review' phase.

As a reviewer of the document, you will be prompted to click the Start signing button when you're ready to sign the document. Each cover page will be expanded for your review, along with any attachments that the document has:

The view will scroll to the signature line where your name is present on the document (which is the first cover page). Upon confirming that you have reviewed the document and clicking Sign, your signature will be applied and a record of the event will be added to the document history, and the Prime Consultant on the document will be notified:

3. Signing as an Assignee

As an assignee on a document, the cover page for your portion of the document requires your sign-off. Once the attachments that are required have been uploaded and you're satisfied with the content, you may provide your signature for the cover page. When assigned, you will see controls in the heading for the cover page:

When ready, click the Sign button. Your view will scroll to the line where your signature will be applied to the document. Once you have confirmed and signed the document, your signature will be applied inline and a record of the event will be added to the document history:
