Change Directive - Create

Part3 uses the term 'Change Directive', which in practice means " Hi GC, here is a change that you can act on immediately. Pricing is to be submitted and reviewed at a later date".

Of course, document names are not one size fits all, so you can update your naming conventions at the project or organizational levels.

Creating a Change Directive

Step 1: In the top right corner of your screen, click the '+' sign and select 'Change Directive'

Step 2: A pop-up will appear with several fields for you to fill out and select in order to create the Change Directive. Only the fields with a red asterisk need to be filled out.

Number - The number of the CD will automatically populate to the next available number, but you can override this if preferred.

Reason - You can select from Part3's existing reasons, or create your own.

Main Disclaimer - If you have populated disclaimers at your organizational level, you can select from the dropdown list. If not, you can add a new one by clicking the '+ Add New' button.

Consultants - Select any consultants that will be involved with this change.

Pricing - Part3 has a common list of ways to track pricing with CDs. You can leave these unselected if none apply.

Don't feel pressured to get this right the first time. This information can be edited at any time as long as the CD has not been issued.

Step 3: When finished, click the blue 'Create' button at the bottom of the pop-up.

You'll be directed to a new window with your CD. Now it's time to collaborate with consultants and populate your change. Read more here for the next steps.
