Budgets - Track your spending

It's important to know how much or how little of a budget has been used. There are a few different ways you can do this in Part3.

  • View transactions
  • Budget Appendix on your change orders!

View transactions

All of the transactions against any budget can be viewed on the project settings page. To have a look at the transactions, follow these steps.

Step 1: Go to your project 'Settings' and navigate to 'Project budgets'.

Step 2: Click the 3 dots on the right side of the budget you want to view. Select 'View all transactions'.

Step 3: A pop-up will appear and show a detailed breakdown of when money was taken or added to the budget.

Note: You can click on the documents listed on the 'Created in' and 'Issued in' line items to jump straight to that document

Budget Appendix for each CO

If you want to be transparent with your budget transactions, or if your owner specifically requests this information, using the budget appendix is great!

The budget appendix is available at the change order level. This means that any time you issue a change order (that's what we call it at Part3, but maybe you call it something different....totally cool 😉), an appendix will be included to give a full breakdown of all transactions within that CO.

To enable the appendix, follow these steps.

Step 1: At the project level, go to the 'Team' tab. Find your company as the Prime Consultant and click 'Edit cover pages'.

Step 2: Scroll down the document list until you find 'Change Order'. Click on the grey bar to see the dropdown.

Step 3: Toggle on 'Include appendix'. When finished, click the blue 'Save settings' button at the bottom of the modal.

The next time you create a change order, you will see an appendix below the cover page.

If you click on the grey bar that says 'Appendix' you will see the full breakdown of all transactions on that change order and how they impact each individual budget.
