Formatting Your Report

In this article, we'll cover how to customize your report in the 'Layout' tab you see at the top of your report! You can also watch a video here if you prefer!

The layout format allows you to choose how many pictures you want in a row, and how big you want them to be! This helps you customize your layout to suit your needs.

Layout Mode

When you are in 'Layout mode' the button will be orange.

You will notice that the Cover page, Table of contents (if applicable), and all of your sections are in grey boxes with dropdown arrows.

Default Settings

The default settings control will help you set a standard format for your reports. For example, if you always want 2 images per row, you can set this as your default.

Step 1: When you first click into 'Layout mode' you will see the default settings at the bottom of the screen.

Step 2: Adust the 'Images per row' number to reflect how many pictures you want to appear in each row. In the example above, I have chosen 2 because I want my pictures to be larger.

The maximum image height will adjust automatically. You can decrease the height if desired.

Keep reading below to learn how you can customize your images within your items!

Customize Item Layout

To view or modify the layout of one of your items, follow these steps.

Step 1: Find the section you want to format and click the dropdown arrow. This will reveal the preview of all the items that are within that section.

Step 2: Click on an item and a blue outline will appear.

The blue outline indicates that you are modifying the layout for that specific item. If there is no blue box, the modifications will not be applied.

Step 3: You will see a bar at the bottom of the screen that has settings to customize 'Images per row' and 'Image height'.

Step 4: When you are in the item and ready to modify your format (ie, there is a blue outline), you can use the up and down arrows to adjust the number of pictures in a row, as well as their size.

Click the ORANGE 'Optimize' button to auto-size the height of the pictures! 💥This will fill the space to the margins of the paper and minimize empty white space on your report!

As you modify the size and quantity of pictures, the layout will update in real time so you can see what the report will look like.

You can click the 'Reset' button to go back to your original settings.
