Submittal Log Generation

The project manual outlines all of the divisions that require submittals/shop drawings, but it's a lot of work to dig through the entire project manual to figure this out.

Part3's AI-powered submittal log generator will go through your entire project manual and generate a list of required submittals. ✨

Now you'll never miss another submittal, and your General Contractor knows exactly what they need to submit!

There are a few ways you can generate your submittal logs.

Note: You must have a Prime Consultant role on the project to use this tool.


Option 1

When you create a new project in Part3 and have no submittals created, your submittal tab will look like this.

Step 1: Click the blue "Import Project Manual" button.

Step 2: A pop-up will appear where you can upload your project manual.

The document should be one combined PDF of your entire Project Manual.

Include all consultant specifications if you want to populate the required submittals for those disciplines (ie, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, etc.)

Once you've uploaded the correct document, click the blue 'Next' button.

Step 3: Use the toggle to enable Part3's AI-powered Submittal assistant to make your shop drawing reviews quicker! You can read more here about this tool.

Click the blue 'Upload' button when finished.

Note: You can skip this option and turn it on later if you wish.

Since the Project Manuals are such large documents with hundreds of pages, this can take anywhere from 1 to 5 minutes before your logs are populated. You'll see these screens below.

Once finished, you'll see your logs are populated with the required submittals on your project! Our magic tool has reviewed your entire project manual for you! 💫

Note: The status column will show 'Pending'. This means that it doesn't have a submittal attached yet for review.

Once you start receiving submittals from the General Contractor, search for the division and upload the attachment!


Option 2

Step 1: Go to your project Settings. Under the 'General' tab you will see the 'Project Specification Manual' area.

Step 2: Click the blue 'Upload Project Specification' button.

Step 3: Upload your project manual and toggle enable the 'Submittal Assistant' using the toggle. When finished click the blue 'Next' button.


Step 4: Tick the 'Generate Submittal Logs' box and then click the blue 'Upload' button.

A pop-up will appear in the bottom right corner of the screen to let you know the document upload is in progress.

Since the Project Manuals are such large documents with hundreds of pages, this can take anywhere from 1 to 5 minutes before your logs are populated. In a few minutes, you can go to the Submittals tab in the logs and you'll see these screens below.
