Create Submittal Template for Step-Based Submittals
In this article we'll cover how to create a custom template for step-based submittals. This will allow you to easily select your template group, for when it comes time to adding reviewers to submittals, to cut down on time.💫

To Get Started
Step 1: Make sure stepped-based submittals are toggled on. To do this, go to your project settings, document settings, submittals, and toggle on use step-based submittals".

Step 2: Select Create Template which is located below use step-based submittals toggle.

Step 3: Built the template:
- Add disciplines - use the search to bar to find and select disciplines. They will be populated with their corresponding default assignees, but you can click each discipline to edit the assignees
- Adjust the review period to fit your project timeline.
- + Add step and repeat to build a sequential review.
- You can add multiple disciplines in the same step.
- Once all disciplines in Step 1 have reviewed, the assignees in Step 2 will be notified, and so on
Hot Tip:
- By default, each discipline is required. but each assignee is optional, Meaning you just need one person from that discipline to respond.
- You can edit the assignees of each discipline and make all or some people required.

Step 4: Your new submittal template will now appear below the above use step-based submittals toggle.

Step 5: Open an active submittal and select Use Template, to locate your custom template from the dropdown menu, which will pre-populate the steps create above!
Hot Tip: Primes can always edit a template by selecting the '...' next to the template name, and select 'edit'!
