Field Reports Location Pins

Part3's field report feature allows you to add location pinned plans to your reports, so you can clearly point to the area you're referencing! 👏

Add Location Pins to a Report

Step 1: Once you've followed this guide to create a report, you're ready to add location pins! First you need to add a drawing to your report for reference. Expand an item by clicking on it, then click add drawing. Upload your drawing, followed by save.

Step 2: Now it's time to add a pin to your plan! Do this by following these steps:

  1. Select add pin and position the pin where you would like to reference the drawing. From here you can click save, and this will add your pin to the drawing that will be included as an attachment to your report!
  2. If you would like an image clip with the pin to show on your report, follow these steps:
    1. Select create preview to create a window for the pinned plan. This inserts it as a snapshot within the item! 📸
    2. Select export as image.
    3. Once you're finished, click the blue save button in the bottom right of the pop-up. This will now add your pinned plan to your field report item!

Hot Tip: You can add as many pins to a drawing as you would like, by adding multiple pins before saving the image!

Pinned Image Mark-Ups & Captions

If you want to highlight a certain area of your pinned plan to add some extra detail, use our mark-up and caption tools! ✏️

Step 1: Click on the pinned plan that you want to mark up.

Step 2: Use the annotation toolbar on the top to select your mark-up tools. If you want to add a description to the pinned plan, you can use the Add Caption area. You can modify the style of markups by selecting the markup and clicking the palette tool to adjust line weight, colour, etc.

Step 3: Once you're finished, click the blue Save button in the bottom right of the pop-up.

Step 4: The mark-ups will appear on the edit and layout view, and most importantly, on the PDF output of your report, as shown below!

Final Report

As you're adding pins to items, you'll notice that they will be added to your drawing document, at the bottom of your report. Each pin is colour coded to reflect the status, and is labelled as the item number. For example pin 1.2.1 is red because it's a deficiency, while pin 1.1.2 is yellow since follow-up is required.
