Sketches

When your revising or modifying a drawing, do you issue a sketch instead of a full sheet?

No problem! In this article we'll show you how you can upload a sketch to either a change, instruction, or RFI document.

Step 1 - If you're uploading a sketch (not a full sheet), click the '+ Add drawings' button.

Step 2 - Drag and drop the PDF you want to attach.

Step 3 - During the upload phase - review or fill out the following.

  1. Document type - Select 'sketch' from the dropdown.
  2. Drawing No. and Title - Modify to reflect the document you attached
  3. Issuance date - this is usually the date of the upload or the revision date in your title block
  4. Description - if applicable, provide a brief description about what is being updated/revised
  5. Linked drawings - search for any drawings this may be related to. That will help users connect the dots when they're viewing drawings.

Click the blue 'Save and next' button to review all sheets/attachments.

When you're ready, click 'Upload all'

Step 4 - When ready, return or issue your document.

Note: If this is the first version, it is automatically promoted to the latest

Great news! Your sketch has been saved in the 'Drawings' section on the left-hand menu. You can easily search for it there. When you open your sketch, you'll find all the drawings it's connected to. Plus, feel free to add more links whenever you want!
