Connecting Change Documents
Connecting your change documents is an important step because it determines how the documents are presented and tracked within the application.
This is for connecting independently created documents. You can also have documents automatically connected by initiating them from the source document.
Terms
- Initiating document: the source that this document comes from.
- Initiated document: a document that resulted from a change. These are Change Order and Pricing documents.
General rules
- Only a Prime Consultant can connect documents
- Only issued documents can connect to an Initiated document
- You can only connect with documents that are unconnected
- An Initiating document must have a successfully issued PDF
Connect an Initiating document
This applies to CDs and COs only.
Step 1: Click + Add Initiating document'
Step 2: Select the document from the list, then hit the blue 'Select' button.
Connect an Initiated document
This applies to PCs, CDs, and SIs only, and is only available when those documents have been issued.
Click the blue 'Add initiated document button'. Select the document from the list, and then confirm your selection.
