Version your drawings - Instructions & Changes
This article will show you how we version your drawings for you. We'll highlight different areas where you can add a drawing or a sketch to keep your set up to date!
Instruction & Change Documents
Step 1 - Create your instruction or change document as you normally would.
➡️ In this example, we're highlighting a Proposed Change, but the flow is the same for Instructions and Change Directives.
If you've never created one of these documents before, check out these articles.

Create Change docs

Step 2 - To add new drawing sheets to your change or instruction document, click the + sign and select 'Add drawing'

Step 3 - Upload the file that contains your updated drawing sheets or sketches.
You can upload individual drawings, or a PDF that has multiple drawings or pages. Our ai will split the PDF apart for you.

During the upload phase - review or fill out the following.
- Drawing No. and Title - Check for accuracy
- Issuance date - this is usually the date of the upload or the revision date in your title block
- Description - if applicable, provide a brief description about what is being updated/revised
- Document type - If it is not a drawing, you can change it to a sketch or attachment
Click the blue 'Save and next' button to review all sheets/attachments.
When you're ready, click 'Upload all'
Step 4 - All of your drawings are now uploaded to your Change/Instruction document. If you need to edit any of the details, click the 3 dots and select 'Edit'.

Step 5 - When you're ready, you can issue your document. We will automatically select that you want these drawings to become the latest. You can deselect this option if you do not want them to become the latest version.

Consultant Drawing or Sketch updates
When a Consultant is invited to collaborate on an Instruction or Change document, their drawings or sketches will also be versioned.
Note: If your consultant does not want to use the Part3 auto-generated cover page, it can be disabled.

Step 1 - To upload your drawings, click the 'Add Files' button and select drawings.
If your file contains any drawings at all, be sure to click 'Add drawings'.
Our ai tool will give you the opportunity to identify a cover page while you're reviewing it.

Step 2 - Drag and drop your attachment to be processed.

During the upload phase - review or fill out the following.
- Drawing No. and Title - Check for accuracy
- Issuance date - this is usually the date of the upload or the revision date in your title block
- Description - if applicable, provide a brief description about what is being updated/revised
- Document type - If it is not a drawing, you can change it to a sketch or attachment (ie, a cover page)
Click the blue 'Save and next' button to review all sheets/attachments.
When you're ready, click 'Upload all'
Step 3 - Let your consultant know that you're finished!
