Getting Started : Consultants and Collaborators

Welcome to Part3! As an external collaborator, you will never be required to purchase Part3. This article will help you make sure you have everything set up so you can start working in Part3! In the article we'll cover:

  1. Setting up your personal profile
  2. Tasks
  3. Project team
  4. Your company information (incl. disclaimers)
  5. Part3 on mobile devices
  6. Support

1. Set up your personal profile

Each Part3 user has their own individual profile in Part3. It's important to make sure you have this set up before you start working in Part3. In your profile, you will manage:

  • Contact information
  • Signature upload
  • Stamp uploads (to be used on Submittals and other documents if required)
  • Email Preferences

Click here to learn more and continue with your account setup.

If your project is connected to Procore, you will need to authorize your individual account so Part3 can talk to Procore. If this is applicable to your project, check out this article.

2. Tasks

There is only one thing to worry about when you come into Part3, and that is your tasks.

All of your tasks are listed on the project overview page. These tasks have buttons that direct you right to the document that you need to contribute to or review.

You can also filter your tasks on the 'Logs' page, which contains changes, submittals, RFIs, etc.

Using the filter button at the top of the page, you can either select ' My tasks' or sort them by your discipline. Feel free to apply as many filters as you want to narrow down your search.

3. Project team

Your team members are managed at the project level. In some cases, the Prime Consultant who purchased Part3 will add your team members. However, you have the ability to add your company's team members as well.

Go to the team's page at the project level, scroll down to find your company, click the  three dots beside 'Edit cover pages', and select '+ Add member'.

4. Your company information

It's important that you use your organization's legal language and colors to represent your brand. To control these settings, go to the Team's page at the project level, scroll down to your company, and select 'Edit cover pages' in the top right corner of your company. You can update all the fields to reflect your company's standards

  • What you call documents. Is a Proposed Change the same thing for you, if not, call it what you want!
  • Legal disclaimers (ie; for submittals, change documents, etc.)
  • Custom footer to add any branding or company contact information
  • Brand colors that represent your company.

5. Part3 on mobile devices

Construction happens on site (that's obvious), so it's important to have Part3 set up on your mobile devices. Part3 is a progressive web app and can be saved on mobile devices, but it's not found in an app store. Check out this article to learn how to save Part3 as an app on android and apple devices.

6. Support

Even though you didn't purchase Part3, we are always here to answer your questions and help you get the most out of the platform. You can email us at support@part3.io. You can also use our help beacon in the bottom right corner of the app to search our help documents or ask us a question. Your questions come to a real person, no robots here!

As always, if you have any questions or see an issue with this document, please contact us at support@part3.io
